Vegas, baby
So I'm going to Vegas in less than two weeks and I'm totally excited about that. However, it does present problems where the food is concerned. I have to really plan ahead in order to make it work. We're staying at The Venetian, so I've been all over their website checking out the menus of all the restaurants there. It looks like I'll be able to eat at a number of them, so that is good. I just hope the people I'm with don't want to eat at the places I can't go to every meal. That would suck.
I have already requested a fridge in the room so I can bring as much of my own food as possible. I'm going to make and pack a bunch of breakfast loaves - those are fast and easy. My biggest concern now is checking all of this stuff in my luggage. I'm going to be screwed if my luggage gets lost! Time to just trust.
Trust is going to be a big part of my trip out there where my addictions are concerned... I'm going to do the footwork that I need to do to protect myself, but a lot of it really is going to be out of my hands. I've been taken care of in situations similar to this for 4 1/2 years, though, so I am confident that will continue to happen.
Flexibility will also be a big factor - there are going to be times when I don't get everything that's on my scheduled meal plan and I need to just turn that over and relax and know that I'm not going to die if I don't get 2 full cups of vegetables with each meal. It's funny how panicked I can get. "OMG!! I only have 1 cup of vegetables here. I'm supposed to have 2! What am I going to do????" It's fun to laugh about it after the fact, but in that moment, I truly do lose my mind.
So... wish me well! I will be certain to let you all know how it goes!
