Women's Vitamins
You all know I'm a big proponent for eating healthy, but there are definitely areas I need to improve upon where health is concerned. For instance, I don't exercise enough. Another thing that I used to be big into a couple of years ago, but kind of let go by the wayside is taking women's vitamins. There are supplements that are designed specifically for women's needs - things like menopause, PMS, pre-natal, osteoporosis.
Two of my main issues are PMS and a big concern that I'll have osteoporosis when I get older. I have always just taken a traditional pill for cramps in the past, I've never done anything proactive about the PMS itself like taking a pre-menstrual supplement two weeks out of the month to help alleviate the symptoms. I think this could be very beneficial, especially after reading some of the highlights like
- Helps resolve some of the discomfort and inconvenience of heavy bleeding
- Naturally reinforces muscle relaxation, efficient nerve conduction, and quality of vascular tone
- May help relax intra-uterine smooth muscles
As far as osteoporosis goes, I'm not sure why it's a fear of mine. I guess because I have poor posture and I see old ladies who are all hunched over and I fear that I'll end up that way if I don't start doing something now. Osteo Essentials is clinically shown to support bone protection - which to me means will help strengthen them. I want to promote and develop strong bones now before it's too late. It scares me to think that I'm almost 40 (but that's another topic all together!).
Lastly, I think it's just sound and practical to take a daily mulit-vitamin. I know when I was taking them on a regular basis, I had more energy and felt more alert. Why did I stop taking them?? I need to start that practice up again. I see the Nutra Multi, which is formulated specifically for women also supports bone health, so this would probably be a great addition to that regime.
Do you take vitamins and/or supplements on a regular basis? What's been your experience with and without them?
